The Huntsville Times: Lady Bulldogs expect to field stronger team

Cynthia Cooper coaches at SWAC's Prairie View A&M (just outside Houston, generally referred to as "the hill".) No few Houstonians were put off, offended and otherwise not really happy when local Texas Southern University's administrators dis'ed Coop's expression of interest in the then open coaching position on "the yard" before the position on "the hill" became available. Texas Southern is a member of SWAC (unrelated to the now defunct SWC), along with notables Southern University and Grambling State University.
