WNBA weekend seen July 9th

seen this weekend: Minnesota at home. Look at the stats: Box Score The anties' field goals 47.6%; Minnesota 45.5%. The anties 3-point field goals 41.7% but from 10 made in 24 attempts; Minn 40.0% but only 4 made in 10 attempts. The anties: Vickie Johnson 12 points, Shannon Johnson 20 points, Biba 19 points. And Minnesota still pulled out a win . . . before their home crowd this time of 5,718! Nothing short of incredible!

seen this weekend: Indiana in the lair. Again, look at the stats: Box Score For Indiana: Anna DeForge 15 points, Tully Bevilaqua 7 points, Tamika Whitmore 13 points, Tamika Catchings 20 points, Ebony Hoffman 9 points, Tan White 8 points. Absolutely nothing extraordinary: they won not by super actions but simply by persistent effort. Through this game, they were well coached. For the rest of this season, Ann Donovan should make this game the salt her team shakes on its meals, the response to every suggestion of respite, the commercial after every 15 minutes of game tape review. Not super, persistent.
