While back at Roland Garros . . .

As far as I can determine, no lower seed or unseeded player has defeated a higher seed in women's singles. This is a dream come true for the French Open organizers, of course: there will be probably two big crowd drawing names for all of the remaining matches of the tournament. The round of 8 and the semis promise to be exciting, and telling of what's forthcoming on the tour for the remainder of the year. "And it all started here in Paree'", though, for sure, Roland Garros is a clay court venue.
