Notable First Round Wimbledon surviviors
Several young Americans survived the first round at Wimbledon on Days 2 and 3 (June 27th and28th):
Mashona Washington defeated Germany's Julia Schruff 6-3 6-4.
Meilen Tu defeated Vassilissa Bardina 6-3 6-0. 
Jamea Jackson, left, defeated Kirsten Flipkens 4-6 6-4 6-1.
Other US first round survivors were Shenay Perry, Meghann Shaughnessy, Laura Granville, Vania King, Amy Frazier, Lisa Raymond, Ashley Harkleroad, and Venus. All but Venus would fall in the second round Day 4 Scores , Lisa Raymond at Venus' hands in a headliner 7-6(7-4) 5-7 2-6.
