A momentary aside to Wimbledon, Eastbourne a final note

I'm not saying the mainstream media is in anyway correct that interest wanes when the names Henin-Hardenne and Clijsters dominate the news for an event (I was keeping up with the WNBA and US track nationals (ahem)), but Russia's Anastasia Myskina was in the finals against Belgium's Justine Henin-Hardenne at the Eastbourne, England, tournament. Henin-Hardenne won, but by a tight 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-5). This has to impact play at Wimbledon as players are encouraged that Myskina made the finals of anything again and in what Henin-Hardenne is displaying since not on clay anymore.

Pictured above and immediately below, Anastasia Myskina during the Eastbourne finals, Saturday, June 24, 2006. Second below, Kim Clijsters of Belgium shortly before rain interrupted her match at Wimbledon yesterday.
