Mauresmo out at Roland Garros

Rejection . . .
I knew that Maria Sharapova had lost early yesterday morning at the French Open, but saw only while flipping through sites doing some quick research earlier today that Amelie Mauresmo had been ousted yesterday as well. I'm sure the French were sorely disappointed; however, when I turned a few moments ago to rolandgarros.com and sonyericssonwtatour.com, the official WTA site, Amelie Mauresmo news had long since been archived. How fickle public adoration. And look at the WTA's slant (or, better, bent): Nicole Notches No.1 Victory, referring to the 17 teen year old Czech Nicole Vaidisova who bested Mauresmo. Mauresmo's chances of ever being that French women to win the French Open? There are now doubters: Paris jinx downs Mauresmo once again.

consternation: the 17 year old next faces Venus
