2006 FIBA Championship for Women: fashion says . . . 3.
This email was sent on July 15, 2006 by "Joe Smith" (email: y_dubbb@yahoo.com) to all of the members of all of the following Yahoo! Groups: wnbaphotoclub@yahoogroups.com, wnbaalltheway@yahoogroups.com, theultimatewnbaclub@yahoogroups.com, WNBA_fan_club@yahoogroups.com, allaboutthewnba@yahoogroups.comIt borders on fantasy/delutionalism (a different culture and a different time), but at its core presents an argument in the minds of a sector . . ., but let me take this up after the email.
Greetings fellow group members,
I would like to propagate this idea: I remember in the 1992 summer Olympics the Australian women's basketball team wore uniforms that resembled something like biker shorts. They played seriously; there wasn't any spectacle-like atmosphere. And I enjoyed the game that much more getting to see how beautiful the Australian women's bodies were. I know that it might just be a difference in the culture of America and the culture of Australia that the women would consider playing in such uniforms; but I think that if the WNBA players wore uniforms like the 1992 Australian women, the WNBA would be more popular. If those biker-like uniforms are too much, then maybe just tighten up the current uniforms more. I think that this would be a lucrative and fun idea. What do you think?
Joe
I won't answer this; there's his email address, have at. But this has been suggested often enough to make one wonder if the powers that be may wonder about this as a peculiarly US "problem". So, during this championship, I am just looking at the uniforms around the world. At top France celebrating its win over Russia today, and at left Team Argentina celebrating its day 5 win. (Yahoo!
